Santa Dash - 2025
Santa Dash – School Games National Initiative
As part of the School Games national initiative to keep children active, our school took part in a festive Santa Dash. Children from all year groups joined an extended, festive Daily Mile, running to the sound of Christmas tunes and enjoying special guest appearances from Santa, Rudolph, and the Elves.
The event was full of energy, smiles, and seasonal cheer. A huge thank you to our Year 6 children, who did a fantastic job supporting younger pupils and coordinating the run to make sure the event was inclusive, well-organised, and fun for everyone.
Well done to all involved for embracing healthy activity in such a joyful way!
Football Tournament - October 2025
The boys football team recently played in an local school football tournament at Beacon Hill Rovers.
We had a football tournament against other schools. It was not easy at first but then we won our first fixture. It was against Great Totham and the score was 0-0. Our next game was against the reigning champions, we lost 2-0 - it was disappointing but we carried on and played against Wentworth. We won 2-0 - our first win!. Then after that our morale was high! Next, we played against All Saints - it was back and forth and then we scored a goal. The final score was 1-0 and we won! So in total we won 2 games, drew 1 and lost 1. All the other teams sat on the grass and our team came second and Great Totham won. Last year our team came last so it was a big improvement for the school. Well done everyone!

Tag-Rugby Tournament - December 2025
Our Year 5/6 Tag Rugby team took part in the Colchester Blackwater School Sports Partnership Tournament, competing in an impressive eight consecutive games. After opening with a draw, they grew in strength and confidence, going on to win every match that followed and securing a well-earned place in a tense and exciting final. A victory would have taken them to the County Finals, and the determination on display was remarkable.
Despite battling wind, rain, and cold temperatures, the children played with joyful vigour and unwavering enthusiasm. There was not a single complaint, nor a moment of lost spirit — instead, they demonstrated true resilience, teamwork, and aspiration throughout. We could not be prouder of their outstanding efforts and attitude.
A special thank you goes to Mr and Mrs Greene for their invaluable support as team coach and scorekeeper.
The team finished the day triumphant, earning an incredible second place — a fantastic achievement for all involved!
